NYU STERN GLOBAL ALUMNI CONFERENCE

About This Project

NYU Stem, the prestigious New York business school hosts a global bi-annual conference for its alumni and each time the conference is held in different city. Approximately 350 attendees join each conference to listen to faculty leaders, business forerunners and politicians discuss a variety of current and pertinent business-focused topics. The conference was previously hosted in London in 2011 and plans are well underway for the next conference which will be held in the Ritz-Carlton Shanghai in June 2013.

The two day conference was held in the main auditorium at QE2 with 4 additional break-out rooms for plenary sessions. Highlights at the conference involved a key-note address by Gordon Brown (former Prime Minster of the UK from 2007-2012 and former Chancellor of the Exchequer from 1997 to 2007) plus a fascinating session with Sir Martin Sorrell (eminent English businessman and CEO of WPP Group) who was interviewed by top business journalist for Sky News, Jeff Randall.

A comprehensive and exciting social-track ran in parallel with the conference for spouses of the attendees and also for the attendees themselves to enjoy during their free time. Events included VIP guided tours of museums such as Tate Modern and The National Gallery, a trip to Windsor Castle, private tours of speciļ¬c London fashion houses and auction houses (including Bonhams and Sotheby’s) and other places of cultural interest such as the famous Portobello Market.
